Starting off the top 5 is "Requiem for the Brigadier General", a piece that you should only listen to if you're really happy and want that to stop immediately. The piece has a beautiful melody for the flute which plays over the string section for pretty much the entire piece. It reminds me of 'Adagio for Strings' in its tone and tempo. Dynamics wise, it crescendos and diminuendos a few times but, other than that, it's nothing fancy. It doesn't need to be though as the melody alone is enough for it to make the list. If you haven't heard it yet, you should do so immediately.
It's played during the funeral for Brigadier General Maes Hughes and as such is a very definitive piece.
